Tracy Fahey is a Gothic devotee, researcher and educator, having delivered papers at Gothic conferences in University of Aarhus, Denmark, University of Stirling, Scotland, University of Northampton and Trinity and All Saints College, Leeds on themes such as Irish Gothic, werewolves, fairytales, castles and hauntings. With Gothicise she has previously worked on participative projects ghostwalk/ghosttalk (2010) and The Double Life of Catherine Street (2011). On this project, she has acted as joint creative director with Aoife Cox.
Aoife Cox is a graduate of Sculpture and Combined Media at LSAD (2010), and has also completed a Masters in Social Practice and the Creative Environment (2011). Aoife's practice includes performance, film and object-making. Currently she is working on an internship with the EV+A 2012 exhibition. In her spare time she likes to relax by tearing up the roller-derby court as one of the Limerick Roller Girls. On this project, she has acted as joint creative director with Tracy Fahey.
Martin Corcoran is a media composer based in Limerick. Styles worked with so far are jazz, funk, rock, classical, Irish traditional, chill-out and ambient. In addition to composing music he also writes songs and currently is working on a brand new project in American cross over country. He is also working on an ambiant new age music project with an ayurvedic yoga teacher.
He has worked on some short film projects and some internet based adverts. Always interested in broadening his musical palette, 'A Haunting' is a project he is enjoying very much.
Eibhlis Slevin is currently in her 3rd year of Sculpture and Combined Media in LSAD. She considers herself as part of the Gothic community and subculture due to her love of Gothic and eccentric fashions. Her other interests include her love for the spooky and the bizarre. Her current artist practice is based on how the Gothic preys on exaggerating the fears of present day life. For A Haunting she has worked on the Costumed Promenade.
Holly Burnard is a 3rd year Sculpture and Combined media student in LSAD. She has a deep and abiding love for all things Gothic, probably harking back from her days as a moody teenager! She has done illustrative work for BoLT Magazine and exhibited in the Leitrim Sculpture Centre as a part of North West Pride. Examples of Holly's on going work can be found at http://claudiaink.posterous.com/ In this project, Holly participated in the photo shoot and publicity dissemination , as well as co-ordinating the dance event.
Catherine Geagan is currently studying painting at LSAD. She has previously shown work in Limerick and Moate, Westmeath. Catherine is interested in the 'other-ness' of the Gothic, in particular, how adapting your own Gothic title can automatically place that which is unfamiliar alongside the familiar, if only for a short while. she hopes to continue her study of Gothic themes upon the completion of this project. To date, her role on this project has been to create a series of names with function as a starting point for a Gothic persona.
Barry Masterson is currently studying Printmaking at LSAD. His interest in the Gothic relates mainly to horror films. He has previously explored themes such as pattern and behaviour in nature as well as the destructive nature of humans and has had work exhibited in the LSAD Drawing Awards. You can see some of his work at http://www.random-friend.deviantart.com/ . On this project he helped in brainstorming events for the day, as well as overseeing the technical aspects of the whole event.
Fiona Kiely is a designer and currently works with Limerick Civic Trust. At LCT she is responsible for graphic design of printed and digital literature, social media and research. She regularly works with City Council with public events creating treasure maps, riddles and tours. Fiona is interested in public spaces, built and virtual environments and their impact on people in their everyday lives. She is also interested in other worlds and co-created ‘Buiochas le Dia de los Muertos’ (thanks be to the day of the dead) a week long workshop in October 2008, Lough Gur Contemplative Center. It was a multi-disciplinary interactive media workshop that included interactive sculptures that allowed participants to create imagery, music and memory scapes. ‘Buiochas le Dia de los Muertos’ was inspired by a great Irish tradition, The Wake and by the rituals and unusual Mexican celebrations used to embrace life and death.
Fiona regularly gives tours and talks of the People’s Park on behalf of Limerick Civic Trust and will lead the tour this Saturday – spooky stories included - dare to come if you like!
Josie O'Connor is a fourth year Printmaking student in LSAD. She is currently writing a thesis on the analysis of life scripts. She has trained in T-Shirt designing since in utero, and would like it to be known that she is available for face painting, sock puppeteering, feline wisdom and more. On this project, Josie designed the suitably Victorian poster and worked on the face-painting.
Ciara Nolan is currently studying Sculpture and Combined Media at L.S.A.D. Her interests in the gothic relates to art and the unnatural body. She has previously explored themes such as the disfigured body due to external pressures. On this project she worked on the Haunted Hallowe'en treasure hunt.
Cliodha Barry is currently studying at LSAD. On this project she worked with Fiona Kiely on the Twilight Tour of the Park, as well as assisting in a number of other sub-projects.
