DAYTIME EVENTS - ALL AGES
1 pm, Welcome at Entrance to People's Park. Visitors welcomed, name generator used to create badges, Hallowe'en Treasure Trail maps and goody bags given out. Trail commences.
2pm, Costumed Promenade. In a revivial of the original tradition of the Park, there is a parade of Victorian wraiths around the Park. All welcomed to join in.
3pm, Victorian Music Event. Victorian parlour songs.
4pm, Victorian Dance Event. Demonstration of dance steps, with all invited to join in and recreate a traditional Victorian dance.
EVENING EVENTS - ADULTS
5pm, Twilight Tour of the Park. Costumed tour of the history, legends and stories of the Park, led by guide Fiona Kiely, of the Limerick Civic Trust.
6pm, Ghosts of the Park. Night time event commences featuring archival photos of the Victorian Park projected onto the present Park, complete with specially composed soundscape by composer Martin Corcoran.
7.30 pm, Ghost Bus Tour. The Ghost Bus picks up Park-goers at the Park Entrance, for a special spectral tour of Limerick and its ghost stories told by local experts in folklore and legends. Final drop-off at the Printmakers Hallowe'en Ball at the Limerick Rowing Club (starts 9pm). This features the band Solar Dreams, cult classic movie Frankenstein Created Woman, with introduction by film critic John Byrne, Hallowe'en games and prizes for best costume, group costume and couples costume. Tickets are 10 euros and available from the Printmakers at 5a Sarsfield St. from 11-5.30pm Tuesdays to Fridays, and 10-4pm Saturdays.
